PROJECT COMPLETION

STAGE 4 TRAFFIC CONFIGURATION

Beginning the week of October 27th, traffic will shift to the outside lanes of Arlington Heights Road as the contractor works to restore the medians in the center of the roadway. Please refer to the map below. 

PROJECT BACKGROUND

The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is reconstructing Arlington Heights Road, from IL 83 to Lake Cook Road for 1.5 miles in the villages of Buffalo Grove, Long Grove and unincorporated Lake County.

The project will replace pavement that was originally built in 1980 and has now reached the end of its useful life. The reconstruction will consist of removing the existing concrete, installing a new aggregate base and replacing the roadway pavement with brand new asphalt. The purpose of the project is to not only address the roadway condition but to also improve safety and provide a more accessible roadway for pedestrians, motorists and all other users in the community.
