STAGE 3 BEGINS WEDNESDAY JULY 9TH!

The Stage 3 traffic shift is scheduled for July 9, weather permitting. Once in place, all traffic will move to the newly constructed west lanes of Arlington Heights Road, allowing work to begin on the east side of the roadway.

Please use caution when traveling through the area-some lanes will have temporary slopes to bridge elevation differences between new and existing pavement.

PROJECT BACKGROUND

The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is reconstructing Arlington Heights Road, from IL 83 to Lake Cook Road for 1.5 miles in the villages of Buffalo Grove, Long Grove and unincorporated Lake County.

The project will replace pavement that was originally built in 1980 and has now reached the end of its useful life. The reconstruction will consist of removing the existing concrete, installing a new aggregate base and replacing the roadway pavement with brand new asphalt. The purpose of the project is to not only address the roadway condition but to also improve safety and provide a more accessible roadway for pedestrians, motorists and all other users in the community.
