Construction Update - July 29th, 2026
FINAL TOUCHES UNDERWAY ON ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ROAD
The Arlington Heights Road Reconstruction Project is in its last stretch as crews wrap up the last details that will bring the corridor across the finish line!
This week, contractors are focusing on restoration efforts by removing construction debris from parkways and cleaning storm structures. Additional finishing work included placing asphalt beneath an existing guardrail to help reduce future vegetation growth and constructing stone shoulders along Checker Drive west of Arlington Heights Road.
Crews also began laying out permanent pavement markings this week. Weather permitting, roadway grooving and permanent striping are expected to be completed next week, marking the substantial completion of the project. Motorists should continue to expect occasional daytime lane shifts as crews safely complete these activities.
